Purgatory Exchange ("we," "us," or "our") operates a secondhand clothing store in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you participate in our sell-to-us program.

When you bring clothing to sell at Purgatory Exchange, we collect the following information through our in-store check-in process: your first and last name, phone number, email address (optional), mailing address (optional), and date of birth. If you present a government-issued ID for verification, we may also record certain ID details such as the scan date. We also assign a unique customer number and tote identification number to track your transaction.
How We Use Your Information

To process your sell-to-us transaction, including evaluating clothing items and generating offers. To send you transactional SMS notifications about the status of your transaction — confirming receipt of your items and notifying you when your offer is ready. To maintain records of transactions for business and legal purposes. To contact you if there is an issue with your transaction.
By providing your phone number during our in-store check-in process, you consent to receive transactional SMS messages from Purgatory Exchange related to your sell-to-us visit. These messages are strictly transactional and are not used for marketing or promotional purposes.

SMS Messaging
You will receive up to 3 SMS messages per sell-to-us visit (intake confirmation, offer-ready notification, and occasional delay notification). Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After opting out, you will receive one final confirmation message and no further texts. You may opt back in by replying START. For help, reply HELP or contact us using the information below.

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share your information only with our SMS service provider (Twilio) solely for the purpose of delivering text messages to you, and as required by law or to comply with legal processes.
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information. Your data is stored in a secure cloud database with access restricted to authorized Purgatory Exchange staff. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Transaction records are retained for a minimum of one year. You may request deletion of your personal information by contacting us.
